Students from kindergarten to high school will have access to after-school learning opportunities, thanks in part to a donation from PPL Corporation to the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown.
PPL recently contributed $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club to support its Make Your M.A.R.K.™ (Motivated Academically Ready Kids) program. PPL’s gift, made through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, will enable students ages 5 – 18 to participate in after-school educational reading and mathematics instruction. For several years, Make Your M.A.R.K.™ has been annually approved as a qualified innovative educational program to receive funds under the PA EITC guidelines.
There are currently ten Make Your M.A.R.K.™ inner-city locations throughout the Allentown area. Students are actively engaged twice a week in after-school classes. The educational language arts/reading/English and math materials align with the Allentown School District and Pennsylvania standards for teaching.
